Thanks to its beautiful setting, charming vernacular architecture and panoramic views, Sukoró is one of the most attractive villages around Lake Velence. The village lies at 168 metres above sea level at the foot of the Velence Hills and is ideal for guests who enjoy nature, tranquillity and recreation.

The area offers excellent hiking and cycling options along well-marked routes through hills, forests, vineyards and orchards. Along the way you will discover remarkable granite formations such as the famous “Swingstones”, as well as lovely natural spots like the Éva Spring, Angelika Spring and Lake Bella.

The region also has plenty of culture. Visit the Géza Gárdonyi Memorial House in Agárd, the Vörösmarty Museum in Kápolnásnyék, or the Military Memorial Park in Pákozd. The nearby village of Nadap is known for its historic geodetic reference point used for elevation measurements across Hungary.

Lake Velence—often called the pearl of Central Transdanubia—warms up to around 26°C in summer and is popular with families and water-sports lovers. Enjoy beaches, boat trips, pedal boats, surfing, water-skiing and fishing.

Velence-hegyi Kilátó lookout tower

A highlight in the area is the Velence-hegyi Kilátó, a popular lookout tower in the Velence Hills near Sukoró. From the top you can enjoy panoramic views over the lake, the surrounding hills, vineyards and nature areas.

The tower can be reached via scenic walking and cycling routes and is especially popular at sunset among hikers and photographers.
